Plan With Clarity

None of us plan or intend to get into trouble. The problem is we don’t plan NOT to.

Andy Stanley

Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Won’t you first sit down and estimate the cost to see if you have enough money to complete it?

Jesus
If we don’t know where we are with our finances, it is impossible to have financial clarity. Without clarity, we are almost assured of falling short of our long-term goals. For many, financial planning seems as fun as a root canal. However, you can go through the below process in just a few minutes to discover tremendous clarity into your finances. Either do the exercise in the privacy of your own home or we will go through it together during your first visit to our office.

Live. Give. Grow. Owe.

Those four simple words comprise the total of everything we can do with our money. We can fund our lifestyles (Live), we can give it away (Give), we can save/invest it (Grow), or we can pay debt and/or pay taxes (Owe).
  • 1. Find last year’s tax return; use it for the next three steps.
  • 5. Find your debt statements from last year.
  • 7. Find records of the last year’s savings.
  • 9. Add 3, 4, 6, and 8 below:
  • 10. Find your Live amount by subtracting your total from last year’s income.

Move Forward with Confidence

You cannot be spiritually free and financially bound.

Larry Burkett

Remember, there’s ultimately only one way to financial peace, and that’s to walk daily with the Prince of Peace, Christ Jesus.

Dave Ramsey
Webster’s dictionary defines confidence as ‘‘the act of confiding, trusting or putting faith in.’’ By following the sound financial planning principles discussed in this website and answering the critical question, ‘‘How much is enough?’’, our advisors help give you confidence, with a little ‘‘c’’, in your plan. However, given the political, economic, and social uncertainties in our world, confidence spelled with a capital ‘‘C’’ does NOT come from accumulating more money (i.e.: building bigger barns). It only comes from a life-giving relationship with Jesus.

Live with Financial Contentment

The most important financial principle is contentment. It brings peace, not apathy.

Dave Ramsey

You say, ‘If I had a little more, I should be very satisfied.’ You make a mistake. If you are not content with what you have, you would not be satisfied if it were doubled.

Charles Haddon Spurgeon
John D. Rockefeller, the founder of what is now Exxon, was already a billionaire in the early 1900s. Adjusted for inflation, many believe he was the richest man in modern history. Mr. Rockefeller was once asked by a reporter, “How much is enough?” and Rockefeller responded, “Just a little bit more.” Was Mr. Rockefeller financially content? I don’t think so! If a billionaire can’t be financially content, how in the world can anybody else be financially content? Given that all of us have limited financial resources as we face the daily challenge of countless competing financial choices, we must answer the question, “How much is enough?” to move toward financial contentment. We can guide you on your journey toward financial contentment. Don’t wait any longer! Click here to schedule your free initial phone consultation with one of our advisors.
This concept, as well as the “pie exercise” under “Plan with Clarity” has been borrowed, with permission, from the book Never Enough, authored by Ron Blue and his daughter, Karen Guess. If you come in for an initial appointment or join me for a phone appointment, I will send you a complimentary copy of the book.
